interactive experience

Scale Room

Understand documented physical artwork dimensions relative to a 170 cm viewer and clearly labeled architectural reference walls without requiring reproduction of the artwork image.

This activity is educational scaffolding, not proof of historical process, intent, quality, or complete exhibition reconstruction.

Original classroom diagram · Scale Reference

Show why documented dimensions and interface scale are not the same as viewing an artwork.

Text equivalent: Documented height and width are compared with a 170 cm human reference and a labeled wall. The diagram is a proportional teaching aid, not an artwork reproduction or installation reconstruction.

Discussion prompts

  1. Which differences can you describe before interpreting them?
  2. What does documented scale add that a thumbnail cannot?
  3. Where would you qualify the phrase Abstract Expressionism rather than use it as a single style label?

Optional activity

Open Scale Room — use the activity's own evidence and approximation boundaries.

Exit prompts

  1. Name one observation and one interpretation you would keep separate.
  2. Write one sentence explaining why movement labels do not erase differences among works.

Classroom boundary

Teaching Builder creates no new historical claims. Every evidence item resolves to an existing AEU record or audited interaction and keeps its source, date, checklist, uncertainty, and non-causal boundaries.

The printable lesson uses metadata, original AEU summaries, prompts, and original HTML/CSS diagrams. It does not bundle historical artwork images, review scans, long criticism, or generated substitutes for protected works.

Rights

The printable lesson uses metadata, original AEU summaries, prompts, and original HTML/CSS diagrams. It does not bundle historical artwork images, review scans, long criticism, or generated substitutes for protected works.

Privacy

Selections exist only in the current page. AEU creates no teacher profile, class roster, saved lesson database, LMS, browser-storage state, or hidden recommendation history.

Print

Printing uses the browser's normal print flow. AEU does not upload, email, publish, or store the lesson; the default lesson is already present in base HTML when JavaScript is unavailable.

Accessibility

Native selects, checkboxes, buttons, headings, text equivalents, 44px-equivalent targets, and a linear print order keep the builder keyboard- and screen-reader-usable without drag-only assembly.
