What is directly observed?
Keep an anatomical description, environmental record, and classification statement separate from the explanation you build on top of them.
What is inferred?
Function, evolutionary history, and causal stories require evidence beyond visual resemblance.
What could vary?
Age, sex, life stage, season, captive morph, body condition, and behavior can all change appearance.
Where is the source?
If a claim matters, follow the source ID and inspect the external institutional reference rather than trusting the card alone.
