Sound and Acoustic Worlds Archive

Twelve original procedural listening studies turn rooms, instruments and environments into readable acoustic objects: hear the example, follow the exact waveform and spectrum, then inspect what the model does and does not claim.

Reality boundary

Every sound here is an acoustic model, not evidence of a real place.

The WAV files are deterministic original synthesis created for this archive. They use no third-party samples, no field recordings, no captured instrument performances and no generated ambience presented as documentary media. Each visualization is calculated from the exact audio file shipped beside it.

Signature experience · listening desk

Pick a world. Hear it only when you press play.

Select with pointer or keyboard. While audio plays, the white playhead tracks time over the exact waveform. Captions change across three cue regions; Pause and Mute remain explicit.

Compact room — close reflections

Model the audible spacing between a source event and early reflections in a compact interior.

Long corridor — repeating echo

Make discrete delay spacing easy to hear and see.

A dry impulse is followed by evenly spaced, diminishing repeats. This is an illustrative echo study, not a measurement of a real corridor.

Plucked string — repeating energy loss

Show an idealized plucked-string envelope and spectral thinning.

Three procedural plucks use a feedback-string model. Each begins noisy and bright, then loses high-frequency energy as the vibration decays.

Glass-like tone — inharmonic partials

Expose multiple decaying partials in one sound.

A bell-like synthetic tone stacks a fundamental with deliberately inharmonic partials. The result is a clear example of a spectrum that is not a simple harmonic ladder.
