Brewing Unit Converter
Convert common volume, mass, temperature, and gravity-point units while rejecting cross-dimension conversions.
Boundary: A correct unit conversion does not validate the safety or suitability of the underlying brewing operation.

Method

BEU does not hide the calculation behind a single result number.
| Method | Formula | Interpretation boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Dimension-safe conversion | canonical value = input × exact/defined factor; output = canonical value ÷ target factor | Conversions preserve the physical dimension. Gravity points are defined here as (SG−1)×1000. |

Units and guards
Input guards keep this foundation implementation bounded. They are not style definitions, legal thresholds, or equipment ratings.
| Input | Accepted units / range | Boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Value | numeric | Finite numeric value. |
| From unit | numeric | Must share a physical dimension with the target unit. |
| To unit | numeric | Cross-dimension conversion is rejected rather than guessed. |
Limits & safety
What the result does not prove
Limitations
- This foundation converter intentionally excludes pressure, energy, concentration, density-temperature correction, Plato/Brix, and water-ion chemistry; later Brew Lab work may add them with dedicated methods.
Safety / responsible-use notes
- A correct unit conversion does not validate the safety or suitability of the underlying brewing operation.
