Category evidence aligns, exact pair certification still required.
BKU006 / COMPARE
Compare what the evidence actually says.
Archetype comparison remains separate from exact product compatibility. BKU006 adds an evidence-state comparison model that can say current, unknown, scope mismatch or not established without manufacturing a compatibility verdict.
| Bike type | Primary context | Common design pressures | Boundary / caution |
|---|---|---|---|
| Road bike | paved riding | efficiency · aerodynamic posture · low mass | Road bicycles span racing, endurance, all-road and utility interpretations; no single geometry or component package defines all of them. |
| Gravel bike | mixed surfaces | stability · tire volume · range | Category boundaries overlap road, cyclocross, touring and bikepacking-oriented designs. |
| Mountain bike | trails | traction · control · impact management | Cross-country, trail, enduro, downhill and other mountain-bike forms can differ substantially. |
| Touring bike | distance with luggage | stability · serviceability · carrying capacity | Touring includes light road travel, loaded touring and expedition use; equipment choices vary. |
| Cargo bike | utility hauling | load capacity · stability · access | Longtail, front-loader and compact cargo layouts place loads differently and should not be treated as one geometry. |
These are archetype fields, not product measurements, ratings, test results, fit recommendations or compatibility declarations.
COMPATIBILITY EVIDENCE
Three pair cases demonstrate the non-transitive rule.
One case has category-level evidence pointing in the same direction, one has a scope mismatch, and one is simply not established. None is promoted into an exact pair certification.
Loaded cassette-range scopes do not support the pairing; authoritative check required.
Same GRX family is not itself compatibility evidence.
Brand, speed, series or graph adjacency never closes the evidence gap.
Inspect exact source scopes and freshness states.
ICU-EXPEDITION-025 / DECISION BOUNDARY
Use context to narrow the question, not to manufacture certainty.
Compare surfaces, carrying needs, storage/transport constraints, assistance preference and system tradeoffs.
No body measurement, injury/medical context, professional bike-fit conclusion or comfort guarantee is inferred.
A category match cannot approve an exact bicycle, component pairing, assembly, service state or ready-to-ride condition.
