Question bank and explanations
The complete deterministic bank remains readable without running the game.
An ICU-authored deterministic SVG explains a reviewed subject and is visibly labeled “not documentary media.”
Answer: visualization. BVU calls this a visualization: an explanatory rendering that can be source-informed while remaining distinct from documentary source media.
A camera or scientific instrument directly records a real subject or event and the media is presented as that captured record.
Answer: documentary. BVU uses documentary for direct capture/record presented as evidence of a real subject or event. Rights and provenance still require separate review.
A past or unseen scene is rebuilt from evidence, with the rebuilt elements and assumptions disclosed.
Answer: reconstruction. BVU uses reconstruction for a rebuilt or inferred view whose evidence and reconstructed parts must be disclosed.
A synthetic image is created by a generative process and is clearly labeled rather than presented as a captured event.
Answer: generated. BVU uses generated for media created by a generative process. Generated media must never masquerade as documentary evidence.
Visual-literacy scoring rule
Correctness is not the finish line.
After every choice, the game explains the evidence boundary and asks you to name the observable clue separately from the representation or relationship classification. No answer changes canonical BVU data.
