Discovery Trails

Follow a question instead of a menu.

Three short guided trails connect the atlas, evidence system, and composition lab into repeatable ways of looking.

Signal-first trail

Start with structure

Identify frame, tunnel, slide, net, floor, and thresholds before reading the era.

Add surfaces

Look at padding, plastic, carpet, mesh, table tops, and wall graphics.

Add light

Notice flat ambient light versus screen/arcade spill and colorful reflections.

Only then read “2000s”

Ask which cues are sourced, which are interpretive, and which come from your own memory.

Evidence-first trail

Find provenance

Do you have a dated image, archive, catalog, or named venue record?

Classify the claim

Sourced, observed, interpretive, speculative, experiential, or unknown.

Narrow the wording

Say only what the evidence supports.

Preserve the unknown

Leave brand, date, or location unset when the source cannot establish them.

Composition trail

Choose viewpoint

Adult seating edge, child-height tunnel, or centered catalogue view.

Set the structural mass

One dominant maze or multiple competing attractions.

Place narrative clutter

Party objects, shoes, cups, prizes, or none.

Set memory intensity

Decide how much pattern, glow, and saturation you want the scene to carry.
