Audience
Who has the job now? Describe a reachable group, not “readers” or “everyone who likes stories.”
- Where can this group be reached lawfully?
- What do they use today?
- Who actually pays, if anyone?

Choose one audience, occasion, substitute, commitment, delivery promise, and rejection signal.
Customer / journey
The intended ICU user is the operator. The venture customer remains unknown until a narrow audience is defined and observed.
Who has the job now? Describe a reachable group, not “readers” or “everyone who likes stories.”
What moment makes the offer relevant: discovery, gifting, learning, reflection, group discussion, commissioning, or another specific job?
Compare against the real alternative: free reading, public libraries, newsletters, book clubs, commissioned writing, courses, social feeds, or simply not spending.
| Journey step | Operator question | Evidence to capture | Failure signal |
|---|---|---|---|
| Discover | What makes the promise legible without overexplaining? | Source/channel, first reaction, click or reply behavior | Interest depends on vague title alone |
| Evaluate | What substitute is compared? | Questions, objections, price response, reason for no | Customer cannot tell what is being offered |
| Commit | What behavior counts? | Purchase, deposit, booking, or another prewritten stake | Only compliments or hypothetical intent |
| Receive | Can the promise be delivered inside the cap? | Time, support, access failure, revision/refund load | Quality requires hidden labor |
| Return | Is repeat use wanted for a specific reason? | Repeat request, renewal intent, next occasion | No reason to return or catalog cannot stay fresh |
ICU / CONNECTED DISCOVERY
This module intentionally uses the existing recommendation node for legacy source ID VU-G01-V001-SS01-PL02, so every dynamic card is grounded in ICU’s current topic or collection relationships rather than title similarity.
