Relationship semantics
A graph edge is a claim type, not proof by connection.
The Expedition 027 explorer groups the preserved canonical edges by meaning so users can see when they are reading depiction, making, space, chronology, geography, transmission, or a research-system rule. Each edge keeps its own evidence state and source references.
What an image or record represents
Depiction, type, figure, scene, gesture, attribute, and visual-identification edges. A label supports recognition but does not exhaust an image’s meaning.
What the object evidence supports
Materials, techniques, media, conditions, and process links. Reconstruction evidence stays distinguishable from object-specific technical documentation.
Where a program is documented
Zones, placements, monuments, and spatial concepts. One surviving or reconstructed program is never promoted into a timeless universal church-decoration rule.
Context without causal shortcuts
Historical order, location, production place, regional grouping, and movement remain visible while sequence or geographic proximity is kept separate from claims of influence.
Direction requires explicit evidence
Influence, reception, contact, gift, attribution, and movement edges carry stronger caution language. The explorer does not infer a route from proximity or graph adjacency.
System boundaries are labeled as such
Inference guards, uncertainty boundaries, and rights/provenance rules are shown as research-system edges, not disguised as historical facts.
Evidence architecture
The source boundary is part of the product.
BIU014 is evidence-led deep content expansion: new records target demonstrated graph gaps, existing canonical records remain untouched, specialist additions preserve earlier entries, and every object/image/uncertainty boundary remains explicit.
Color Context Boundary
BIU treats color as an observable/material property first. A one-to-one symbolic meaning is not assigned unless a source supports that reading for the relevant image, tradition, or context.
