A macro photograph can be delightful and still weak evidence for adult size. Test the boundary between observation and inference before you move into the Evidence Hunt.
Observation practice
Use each scene to separate a useful visual clue from what still needs a source, calibration, or adult-status check.
A calibrated reference can support a size estimate if the image geometry and bar are trustworthy.
Approximate image-scale reasoning. It still does not establish species identity or adult status by itself.
A coin or fingertip can create a scale impression, but perspective, object size and image editing can weaken the inference.
A rough visual cue, not a defensible measurement unless the object's dimensions and imaging conditions are controlled.
Close cropping makes a subject fill the frame. That can erase all absolute scale information.
Shape, pose or color observations only. Adult size requires an independent source or calibrated reference.
